Each illustration varies per kit, as they are authentic vintage. For this card, I trimmed out an image of a sweet kitten. Once you have trimmed out your image, simply insert it into the glassine bag that is also included in the kit. This particular image fit relatively snugly, but if your image does not, simply add some adhesive to the back of the image and gently slide it into the envelope. Once in, press down on the image so that it sticks to the envelope. If your image is small, consider a collage of images to fill in the space! The glassine not only protects the illustration, but also adds a neat texture and a softness to the image.
For the background, I simply stitched the envelope to one of the large square tags. I then layered the stitched image over the patterned paper, overlapping a flap of the patterned paper on the right hand side, and added in a ribbon trim ruffle. Stitching holds it all together. Peapod bakers twine and a vintage button finish off the side.
Stamp a short message on one of the smaller tags, and layer over the vintage ticket for a simple accent to the corner. Wouldn’t this also look great on a book cover? Hmmm…
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and are able to squeeze in lots of crafting time!
