Dimestore Vogue Shadowbox

Hello, everyone!

Julie here, with another project using one of my very favorite things…

…the “Dimestore Vogue” Paper Sheets & Tags Kit!

I had so much fun with this little shadowbox!  The “Dimestore Vogue” kit is so inspiring to me…brings so many family photos and memories to mind…

I’m lucky enough to have some vintage sewing notions from my great-grandmother and my husband’s grandmother…and I combined a little of both of their notions in the frame here…

…wooden spools with just the right colors of cotton thread on them…some lovely, old & rusty pins…a very old machine bobbin…well-used scissors, and a variety of vintage buttons…

Just look at this wonderful button card from the tag sheet–don’t those crystal buttons look real?!

The pattern print sheet for the background, the “ruler” as a side border…a bit of “Linen” Tinted Tape on the corners of the button card, just to give it a bit more of an “aged” look…a bit of “Caribbean” Baker’s Twine to top off the card…

On the outside of the frame, a rosette made with the gorgeous cocoa-colored crepe included in the kit…stitched & gathered, then topped with a circle punched from the gingham print in the kit & finished off with a vintage button…

…finished off with an edging of Platinum Stickles & a couple of strips of the beautiful aqua foil, along with a “fabulous” tag from the tag sheet…

Well, that’s it for me today!  Hope this helps to bring some vintage “notions” to mind for your own projects!
