Retro Easter

Hi Everyone! I have a few things to share with you today. I had the chance to play with the adorable Easter Tag kit. Making tags is so much fun. I love to tack them onto goodie bags or tie them onto the handle of little Easter baskets.

The first thing I made is this treat bag. I used the glassine bag from the kit. It’s filled with chocolate eggs. I added the chick and a tag to the panel of pink paper. One of the tickets and a ruffle made from the white crepe paper finished it off.

Then I made these two little tags. I love how sweet and ‘retro’ they are. And those vintage tickets are so much fun to work with!!

Speaking of Easter, I thought I’d share a funny tradition we have in our family. Meet the Evil Rabbit…

Back in the 70s, my mom received a floral arrangement in him. She kept him around and would place Easter Eggs in him during Easter. My dad always hated him. He thought he had a devilish look on his face. It became the family joke to bring the rabbit out and place him at my dad’s place in the dining room, when the table was being formally set.  My dad would come in, take his seat and and seeing the bunny staring at him, would break into laughter and say, “Get that Evil Rabbit out of here!” Well, Dad passed away six years ago and the Evil Rabbit came to live at my house. It’s still the family tradition to place him out at odd times and Ryan, my son, thinks it’s hysterical when the Evil Rabbit makes an appearance. I think he’s kind of cute!

Thanks for stopping by and to those of you who celebrate it, have a wonderful Easter! ~Anabelle
