A Farmers Market Magnet

I just love these vintage little pans from a child’s playset. I remember playing with my Hollie Hobbie kitchen set (remember how the sink had a pump?) and little dishes like these for HOURS! Quite the little domestic-hasn’t changed too much. 🙂

So, I was so happy when I found a little set just recently. Picked it up with no real purpose in mind, until it struck me how cute to use this pan like a little shadow box, and make a fridge magnet out of  it! The Farmers Market vintage kit was the perfect choice for embellishments.

I first traced around the pan onto patterned cardstock to create the base. The ad cut from the vintage paper makes a nice focal point. Vintage buttons and the labels frame it nicely, and the vintage ribbon and yarn add some good texture.

One of my favorite parts of this kit is the vintage wooden spoon. The title was made from the Cut and Paste Alpha Tiles, and glued onto the spoon, which was then glued to the pan for extra depth. Fun little project to bring Summertime into the kitchen!

Have a great day!

This is the cutest little thing! I love magnets, and you’d KNOW it, if you could only SEE my refrigerator!.. But yes, I loved playing “house” when I was a little girl, and I DO still have my Suzie Homemaker oven! (just never could part with it, and it is now a treasured-but-decorative focal point in my pantry!)… Anyways, LOVE the little fry pan magnet you’ve put together, and I’d love to try to make one similar sometime for my kitchen. I’ll keep my eyes open now for these little pots and pans!! (the couple I have with my oven are little Corning Ware ones!)… Have a great weekend! ~tina

This is such a cute/clever idea! It looks so cute attached to that vintage lunch pail!
