For the rest of June, we are so excited to be doing a blog hop with Scrapbook Adhesives!
You’ll see how great these adhesives are when used with the Paper Sheets & Tags kits, as well as the vintage kits. Be sure to also visit Scrapbook Adhesives’ blog to see what their team is creating using Vintage Street Market products. Lots of fun going on! Also, what’s a blog hop without a GIVEAWAY??? Simply leave a comment on any of the upcoming blog posts, and you will be entered. We will draw a winner for some fun Vintage Street Market/Scrapbook Adhesives goodies on June 30th! Have fun hoppin’ around!
Today I’m sharing a fun little project you can make in no time, using images from the “Party Games” Paper Sheets and Tags, and some photos of your family or favorite little one.
You can get plain wooden blocks in a variety of sizes at most craft stores. I did just four to show you here, but you can make as many as you wish. I’ve done a whole bowl full to set out in a bowl in my living room before, and they are a great conversation piece. These are part of a gift for a favorite little guy, so I used photos of only him, but the large set I made for the bowl in my living room included photos of many different family members, and random papers and ephemera.
It’s very easy, just adhere your photos and images to the blocks using Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Power Tape, and lightly sand the edges with an emery board.
Again, you certainly don’t have to do this , but it’s a fun added bit of interest, and really easy to do. I use a tracing wheel (found in the sewing dept) for a fun effect . By applying pressure and running the wheel around the edges , you get this faux stiched look. It’s suprising how it perferates the photo and images, right down into the wood.
They arent blocks to play with really, but they sure are fun to look at. It’s fun to see how thrilled little ones are to see the photos of themselves on the different sides of the blocks, mixed in with the fun images.
Enjoy the day!
