An Embellished Banner

I just can’t seem to get enough of banners. They are just so festive to look at, and so fun to make. They make the perfect “canvas” for testing out embellishment ideas. This particular banner turned into a bit of a crepe paper flower “study” with the playful Epiphany Crafts punches and embellishments,  and Dimestore Vogue paper kit.

Start with heavy cardboard triangles as your base (even cutting them from a cereal box works great!), and cover with Dimestore Vogue patterned paper. Punch holes at the top to thread in pretty ribbon or lace.

This fun, felt flower embellishment is from Epiphany Crafts-just trimmed with a bit of Platinum Stickles. The aqua foil comes from the Dimestore Vogue paper kit. Just simply cut a strip from the large sheet of foil, fringe, and adhere behind the flower. A little foil button made from the Epiphany Crafts button punch looks so cute set in the center.

What about a half flower made from crepe?

This silhouette is one of the Dimestore Vogue ladies cut from the patterned paper, then flipped to show the pattern side. Trimmed in glitter and a vintage forget me not, she looks great centered on one of the pennants, with another crepe half flower and Epiphany Crafts embellishment.

Be sure to check out Facebook this week for a “hop” between Vintage Street Market and Epiphany Crafts. Lots more inspiration to be found!

Happy Crafting,

Michelle
