Vintage Firecrackers!

So, here’s a fun  home/holiday decor idea that paper crafters will enjoy making for any holiday! Fast to make and incredibly fun to embellish! These embellished paper scrolls are  made with ingredients from the new Patriotic Vintage Kit.

To begin, I cut down one of the patterned cardstock sheets into 4 6×6 squares. These were then simply rolled and taped with Tinted Tape to keep the shape. A 5th scroll was created from one of the vintage book papers.

Once the scroll was made, I used Platinum Stickles to edge the vintage crepe ribbon. Once the Stickles dried, the crepe was pleated along each end of the scroll, and further decorated with a bow made from Charcoal Bakers Twine. A die cut star, more Stickles, vintage tinsel and pleated vintage game money create a festive focal point.

This blue scroll was covered with a vintage memo page, and trimmed with wired red stars. The tag was created from the vintage Bingo card included in the kit and topped with more die cuts, a mini ornament and vintage ribbons.

This scroll was kept a little more simple to create more of a balance in the arrangement. Just trimmed with a snippet of vintage tinsel garland.

Pinking shears add a neat edge to the vintage dictionary page, and vintage looped ribbon adds a fun contrast.

These prize ribbons are so popular now…why not make your own? The Epiphany Crafts embellishment looks so cute in the center of the crocheted flower. The tails were cut from a die cut, and the vintage tinsel adds the sparkle.

So, now what to do with all of these paper firecrackers?

I’ve gathered  these  in a decorated basket. Another fun idea would be to make even more and hot glue them to a wreath form for your front door to greet your guests for your 4th of July BBQ. I can definitely say, decorated scrolls are something I will definitely be making for other holidays as well!

Have a fun, crafty weekend!
