A Not So “Girly” Girl Card

This is a card idea for those young girls, or even, older girls,  in your life who just do not embrace pink, frills and sparkle. Their color palette is just a little more bold…

This card was made with the Party Games Paper Sheets & Tags. A great kit for cardmakers who will enjoy the repetitive imagery, and all of the textures!

For the base of this card, I covered a light yellow cardstock card with the yellow crepe that is included in the Party Games package. A tape runner works just fine in holding down the crepe. Then, I topped it off with a crepe ruffle. Great texture!

This image is just one of many printed on the large paper sheets, and because there is more than one, I was able to cut the girl from another image and layer over the top of the original one using a Scrapbook Adhesives foam square.

The foil scalloped trim you see peeking out from the bottom is the red foil that also comes in the Party Games kit. It works great with this Fiskars border punch!

Originally, this heart die cut says “for Boys and Girls.” As this card is all girl, I trimmed out the polka dot circle tag, created  a strip, and covered any mention of boys! 🙂 Again, foam squares add a fun dimension, and a simple straight pin decorates the edge.

The girl’s face was also cut from one of the die cut tags that are included in the kit. A bow of  Charcoal Bakers Twine tops it off. This card is all about fun and celebrating girls. The pink, frilly girls may even enjoy this card too!

Create vintage!
