Crepe Paper and Twine

I have a fun birthday set to share with you today. As you may remember from my previous posts, my son has had a TON of birthday parties this month! So, I keep going to Party Games to make my gift wraps and cards. This little set consists of a card and matching pillow box, which held a gift card.

I decided to play with the yellow crepe paper today. To create the ruffles on the box, I cut a couple of strips of the paper. I didn’t unfold it, so there are lots of layers to it. I simply cut the strips and then ran them through my sewing maching. I like the thickness as it added lots of texture.

The little dog tag tied with Lemon Drop bakers twine finished it off nicely.

For the card, I cut a larger strip of layered crepe paper. This time I scrunched it up and ran it through my sewing machine. I adhered it to the center of the card. Then I punched a hole on the left side of the card and wrapped the twine around the paper. I added a chunky button, cut the balloons from the paper, used part of a tag and added the banner. This ruffle definitely added some fun texture to the card.

There are so many ways to use the crepe paper. We’d love to see what you come up with!

Thanks for stopping by today. 🙂 ~Anabelle
