For the rest of the month, we are blog hopping with Scrapbook Adhesives-so much fun, as who doesn’t need really good adhesive for their projects??? And, Scrapbook Adhesives is really great adhesive, on so many materials!
For this journal, I used the MyStick, an absolute staple, and my favorite-adhesive foam squares. The MyStik is able to be personalized! I decided to make a vogue one using a Dimestore Vogue tag. So cute!!!
For the cover of this Fabulous Friends 6×6 journal, I cut down a sheet of the patterned paper from Dimestore Vogue, and matted onto the front of the chipboard using the MyStik. The MyStik also holds the ribbon in place. For the focal point, I lightly painted, with basic light blue acrylic paint, a silver reflector from the vintage Patriotic Reflectors set. The center of the reflector flower also comes from the patterned sheet, but I added an Epiphany Crafts Bubble Cap to accentuate it a bit more, and glued it to the center of the reflector. The flower reflector is held in place by one of the large adhesive foam squares. Ok, so here is a humble crafting moment. I actually adhered the flower than thought something was missing still. So, I lifted the flower again, adhered the lady image down, then stuck the flower back on. I used the same foam square-did not need to add more, it was still super sticky!!!!
Love this notebook fringe punch from Fiskars, and using it with the aqua foil sheet also from Dimestore Vogue really adds a neat effect. Linen Tinted Tape finishes off the seam of the fringe border and the paper.
What a great memory to create-fill a journal like this with photos of your friends and notes of what you appreciate about each one of them. It will really be a special album of those who are important in your life. Can’t wait to fill this one up!
Have a great weekend, and don’t forget to check out the design team over at the Scrapbook Adhesives blog for even more inspiration!
