In the interest of full disclosure, I am a Halloween junkie. I just love it! And, no, not the gory Halloween that has taken over today. I love the colors, the Fall weather, the simple coziness of it all. And, I think vintage Halloween graphics can be way spookier than any modern decor we see today. So, I am LOVING all of the cool ingredients included in the Halloween Banner kit. You’ve got ingredients to make banners from flashcards and Bingo cards, but also lots of materials to make cool cards, tags and embellishments.
This one-of a kind wall hanging began as a simple, vintage, out of date, black slide projector wheel. But when altered with the Vintage Halloween Banner Kit, became something entirely usable again as a seasonal home decor piece.
I cut the vintage treat bag into a circle, and layered it over the vintage, orange, scalloped circle. Back before paper-crafting became popular, I think this served as a coaster! Stickles, a mini tag tied off with a vintage button, and a spooky warning create the rest of the background. The little pumpkin man sits on top holding a sign.
A pumpkin sticker embellishes a vintage game card, again trimmed with stickles. I then layered the card over a large black tag. Vintage sheet music peeks out from behind, and a creepy plastic spider nestles among the festooning.
So, if you’re looking for something a little more unique in Halloween decor, consider an altered Halloween. Seems like the perfect time to create something a little out of the ordinary!
Have a great week!
