Can you believe this started out as an ugly little canvas painting from the dollar store? Well, it did! I just turned it around and tore the paper backing off to create a little shadowbox frame. To cover the wood areas of the canvas I used paper from the Dimestore Vogue kit and cut it into strips and glued them to the wood. Then I used the VSM Soot Tinted tape on the inside and outside edges. I used the pretty paper doll in her undies from the family fun set from VSM, as well as the papers inside the shadowbox. I used the absolutely beautiful flower from Maya road in the corner, and also from Maya road, the chipboard cameo pieces. I painted the silhouette black, and used embossing powder to coat the other pieces. I used some vintage fringe and lace for the trim. Here are a couple pics close up:
Of course since it is October, you know I have to make a little halloweeny something, so I created this little Halloween Party invitation:
I took the black and white polka dot paper from the family fun kit from VSM and colored it orange with ink. The little paper dolls and costumes are from the family fun set, and the Circus Game embellishment was cut from the party games kit and I used foam tape to pop it up. I also added a little lace and a button. The inside of the card reads: “get on your spiffiest halloween costume and join us for a party”. Well Thats it for this month, catch ya in November, hope you were inspired to create something fabulous with some of the wonderful Vintage Street Market products.
