Treat Container

Well, the holidays are upon us, and that means attending parties. Looking for unique hostess ideas? How about this decorative treat container? This was simply a re-purposed oatmeal container that now can hold homemade cookies, crackers, or gourmet popcorn. Simply peel off the packaging label, and use it as a template for your selected pattern paper.  This example uses elements from the vintage Victorian Christmas kit. For the lid, trim out a circle that can fit on top to cover the plastic.

Once the container is covered, embellish! One thing I just love is tulle. It adds such volume and texture!  Adding the vintage elements into the tulle is a simple process with high impact. Before I tied the bow, I pulled a tag under the tulle, and tied off the string. With that string, I threaded in a small vintage gold ornament, and key, and knotted it off again, letting the string dangle. I then tied the tulle bow, and glued a vintage flower to the center. Lots of fun elements and texture, and it really adds a uniqueness to the package.

I think any hostess will love it!
