Love & Family

Keri Babbitt here…thrilled to be sharing my debut Vintage Street Market projects with you today!

As its the day before Valentine’s Day, I’ll start out with a vintage valentine for my paper-doll collecting daughter, using the great new twirly twine & the journaling card & tags that come with it:

This card does double-duty as a gift…by attaching the paper doll with small sticky-back velcro circles (soft side on the back of the doll), my daughter can remove the doll for play!  More outfits are in a little flap inside the card.

I’ll just add something chocolatey & sweet, and her gift is complete!

Up next is a layout documenting a favorite Valentine tradition…sugar cookies.

A couple of really fun techniques here.  I stamped with a vintage-doily stamp onto the aqua foil, using teal Staz-On ink.  I also created my own little glittery heart-trinket accents with paper, tacky-glue, rose glass glitter, & a sealant coat…they turned out delicate-yet-thick, and no loose glitter fall-out!

Lastly, you might notice the pink bingo card…to get the resist-stripes, I used the Linen Tinted Tape in rows, then sprayed with some Patina spray ink.  The ink wiped right off the tape, leaving these great stripes.

Onto my final project…February is definitely a month of love, family, & nostalgia for me.  I recently came across this gem-of-a-family-photo in a box at my mothers…perfect for the Family Fun punch-outs.

I stitched the punch-outs onto the top of the page as a banner, & used the Family Fun Paper Kit packaging for this cute paper block at the bottom…a great mix of patterns & images already in a great paper-strip collage!  The vintage 16mm film made a great border when notch-cut at each end & attached with Tinted Tape.

Wishing you February love & happiness,
