Vintage LO, Card and Wall Hanging Featuring Family Fun – Captain Johnny

I am thrilled to be posting my first Vintage Street Market DT projects!  I am simply in love with the Family Fun line, especially the boy themed items.  They are perfect for my son and husband.

For this post I made three special items for the guys in my life.  A layout, a card and a fun wall hanging featuring a three dimensional barn star.

First the LO.  This LO was constructed with the Family Fun Captain Johnny paper (for all three projects, I used just two sheets of this wonderful paper).  I also used a vintage ticket, vintage paper, Linen Tinted Tape, and Denim Twirly Twine, along with a vintage button.  This is my son’s fifth grade basketball team.  He is the blond on the end.  He kind of reminds me of Captain Johnny!

Next, the card.  This card is super simple to make!  I used a 5 x 5 inch square card cut from 12 x 12 card stock.  I used a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch square of the striped back side of the Captain Johnny paper.  I cut the boy from the paper and layered the embellishments; consisting of a Bingo Craft Card, vintage film, Linen Tinted Tape, Denim Twirly Twine and a tag from the package, along with more vintage buttons.

Finally, I couldn’t resist making a wall hanging.  The last bit of striped paper from the Captain Johnny line was folded and cut into a fun barn star that I inked liberally!

I mounted a paper doll and the cowboy outfit cut from the Brother Fashions page on a Bingo Craft Card.  The “ruffled” embellishment at the top was made with Linen Tinted tape folded on itself and layered side by side on another long piece of tape. Then I added a little red glitter and Brown Twirly Twine  along with more vintage buttons.  I love this hung as is, but it also could be mounted in a great rustic wood frame for a fun decoration for any cowboy’s room!

Thanks for checking out my projects!  See you again soon.
