Hello there! Cherry here to share a few goodies today. I have been into making treat bags etc lately …and have enjoyed making my own pockets using papers and other bits and bobs to adorn them with. They make sweet personal gifts for loved ones. My first little project is a scallop popcorn container I found at a local craft store. I used the Family Fun Paper Kit and Meghan Kay paper from the kit
I also used a bit of the twirly twine and a vintage ticket . I added some crepe paper fringe and my beloved crickle ribbons . I also decided to make a bit of paperfetti by just cutting up strips of paper and just nesting it inside. Now this little sweetheart is ready for some candy treats for a special birthday!
My next project is a paper pocket…using the Meghan Kay papers again…I cut a 12x 6 piece from it and simply stitched up the sides. I than took my 1 3/4 circle punch and used it to punch a half circle in the middle. I went to work embellishing it…that’s the fun part! I used the new Bingo Craft cards, some of the lovely Dimestore Vogue diecuts, and some of the Dimestore vintage multi-texture papers sheets. I decided to make a homemade rosette…cutting 12 inch strips x about 2 inches and gluing them together. layered it with some dovetails and the mother diecut. I added ribbons and a stick pin and the outside was done! Of course I couldn’t stop there….I wanted something to nest inside so I used a few of the button card diecuts and added buttons, diecut flowers, lace, and more for some special touches. I also handstamped a few using more of the Meghan Kay paper. I threaded them with more twirly twine and a bit of seambindings and I was finished. I nestled them inside and it is ready to give as a gift. Perfect for the sewing lover Mom …..for her birthday or for Mother’s Day!
