Hello everyone! Today I thought I’d share some Christmas cards I make with the Victorian Christmas kit. One of the main techniques I find gives my projects the vintage feel I love, .. it’s “Stitching”. Machine stitching, stitching my hand, embroidery, you name it , I love it on my vintage projects. The way you stitch, and colors of thread you chose to use, all give your project a different feel and look. As you can see in my simple cards below I used fine gold thread.
Something as simple as incorporating this stitching with gold thread into your design , can add so much interest. I actually designed my cards simply with out lots of other embellishments for just that reason. To showcase the image and accent the design with the stitching.
When I’m working on cards like this, keeping the design simple, I find this a great time to utilize my basic punches, and incorporate them in to the card design.
All of the images I used on these cards were from one sheet of paper. Wow .. that was impressive! All of the papers in this kit worked so well together. I have plenty left.. so I’ll be making more cards over the next few days.
I have to share one more thing with you today before I close. Speaking of how “simple” sometimes says so much. When I got my Retro Christmas Kit, I was giddy to see these “Frosty the Snowman” book pages in there. I have always been a “Frosty lover”. Just looking at the sweet image on that page, made me happy! So … I just went to the closet, grabbed a frame I had , matted the book page, put it in the frame and hung in on the wall in my kitchen.
Some things are just meant to be enjoyed!
Wishing you a great day!
