I have been so busy with my DS Little League and DH Softball. It seems like game after game, in the sunshine. If you are from the Northwest you know how truly special this is at this time of year!
I needed some quick and special table decorations for a special dinner we are having, so where did I turn? Why my Vintage Street Market Twirly Twine Stash. I made quick napkin charm rings and quick votive candles for each table setting.
I think the decorations make a super accent to my vintage French Haviland white china. This set belonged to my great aunt Nellie Parker. It was a 13 piece plus set with all of the complement pieces. It was passed down to me through my maternal grandmother. The china is from the early 1900’s so is safely stored away, except for very special occasions.
For the napkins I folded in silverware and wrapped the napkin twice with Brown Twirly Twine and tied a single knot the charm was added. Finally, I tied a simple bow. Each guest can take the charm home and use it as they wish. Who wouldn’t want to “follow your dreams”? I think this is a fun and inspirational reminder of a special evening.
I also made a votive for each guest to take home. Again easy to do. Wrap Brown Twirly Twine four times around the votive candle. Tie a small double knot that goes around all of the strands. I used a great brown vintage button from my stash and threaded it onto the twine and simple double knotted. Another party take home that is quick and easy. It would be fun to use Pink Twirly Twine with white votives for a Mother’s Day Brunch or something like the ones I made for Father’s Day.
Finally, college graduations are upon us. My son’s basketball trainer is graduating on the first weekend in May, so it was time to create!
This card was made using
a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card made from black card stock, a light purple bingo craft card from Vintage Street Market, Black Twirly Twine and a black sentiment from the packaging, old-fashioned hole protectors, silver glitter glue, Family Fun Cards and Boarders Patterned Paper, and a vintage flower embellishment and button from my stash. Here is hoping that Coach Derek gets a great teaching job and has a wonderful career!
Hope each of you has a wonderful start to May! Watch for my future posts where you can see some of my other vintage china, tea cups and Torquay Mottowares.
