Mother, Father and Brother!

Good Thursday Greetings, Vintage Street fans!  Shellye here with a couple of things to share today.  First though, I hope that all of you moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  I ended up working the entire weekend (nights), but got to witness many new moms celebrating their ‘first’ Mother’s Day…sweet!

MOTHER

Here is the card that I made for my very own mom:

I used the Paper Sheets & Tags from Dimestore Vogue and punched the leaves out from the green paper of the same collection.  The patterned paper and “Mother” punch-out are from the Family Fashion Accessory Kit. From my stash I used a reproduction vintage button, adhesive pearls, ribbon and paper doily.  The “for you” tag is from the Denim Twirly Twine packet.  Tip: for a real leaf look, just fold the punched leave in half and give a little crease 🙂

FATHER and BROTHER

My oldest son had Senior Prom a couple of weeks ago and I just love this picture of the hubby and our two boys!  I decided to create a little stand-up collage showcasing the photo.

First, I stared with a 4×7 sheet of chipboard and covered it with the notebook paper from the back of Distinguished Dad (Family Fun Paper Kit).  I then began the collage process by layering on (and machine stitching as I went) an X-Large and Medium BINGO Craft Cards.  I also used the journal insert from the Aqua Twirly Twine as a mat for the smaller BINGO card.   I wanted to break up all of the ‘blues’ so I added the ‘happiness’ tag from the Vintage Vogue Collection, as well as the adorable ‘Family’ punch-out from the Family Fashion Accessory Kit.  For the fun pennant, I took two vintage tickets and folded them in half and then glued around a bamboo skewer.  I attached the ‘Brother’ pennant (from Family Fashion Accessory Kit) to the top and then the ticket pennant below that with letter stickers spelling out DAD.  I glued the skewer alongside the photo and tied a bit of Aqua Twirly Twine as an accent.  Finally, for the back, I folded a strip of chipboard and glued it into place.  TIP: when creating a collage, keep an assortment of thick and thin foam dots on hand…this makes each of your layers stand out and SHINE!

Hope you enjoyed the projects…see you all next month!
