Christmas Bulb glitter

So, I have to share with you a wonderful idea of my mother’s that I happened upon over the holidays, which I think is sadly going to be apt for a few of us who will start putting away all of the Christmas decorations pretty soon-Shiny Brite glitter!

Unfortunately, a few of those precious bulbs will fall off the tree and break, or have broken in their storage boxes. Instead of crying (OK, a little crying will have to happen), recycle them and make glitter! To embellish this angel wall hanging a little bit more, my mom took her broken ornaments, put them in a plastic storage bag, and smashed them until she got the texture she wanted.

She then applied the new Shiny Brite “glitter” to the angel using liquid adhesive. Once the glue is dry, the newly made “glitter” stays in place great, and adds a wonderful vintage sparkle to this newer wall hanging.

Here is a close up of all that great sparkle!

What a great way to still enjoy those precious ornaments!

Thanks for the tip Mom!

Now, how cool would this have been for me to see last night. I had two Shiny Brite casualties last night from a foam football. No tears but darn, I wish I had thought of the “glitter”. Thanks for the great idea!!!
