A Spooky Invitation…

Are you planning a Halloween party this year? Or, just inviting a few friends over for dinner? No matter the size of your Halloween gathering, why not make it special for your guests? And, start with a spooky invitation…

Supplies Used:

G45 Halloween Greetings, Soot Tinted Tape, Numbers Tinted Tape, Bingo Craft Cards, vintage buttons, Platinum Stickles, Black Shimmer Alphas, Vintage Tape Measure, May Arts lace ribbon, Making Memories glassine envelopes

I really enjoy cards with lots of layers, and the G45 Halloween Greetings has so many images, I can make several cards out of it. For this image, I trimmed around the moon with an exacto knife, and tucked in a Bingo Craft Card.  I put “BOO” on the card with glittery alpha stickers and trimmed the moon with platinum stickles. Just even a little glitter really adds a nice contrast to the rest of the card. The numbers from the vintage tape measure, Bingo Card and Numbers Tinted Tape also work well together.

Ok, now onto the really fun part, and a bit interactive. Your guest needs to work a teeny bit to get the scoop about your party!  I found a flashlight image, and adhered it to a pale yellow/ivory sheet of cardstock.  I then trimmed around the image, and left enough of the cardstock to create a beam of light. A mini glassine envelope is the perfect storage for this flashlight.

To create the party details, I stamped a fill- in- the- blank invite (using Black Staz On ink) onto a transparency, and layered that over black cardstock. Numbers Tinted Tape holds it all in place. With a fine black Sharpie, I will fill in the party details. But against the black cardstock, this information will be difficult to read.  The party guest will need to pull out the flashlight, and slide it between the transparency and black cardstock in order to shed some light on the subject!

I also recently did this trick for my son’s birthday Spy Party-it was a huge hit! The parents enjoyed it too.

Whether one guest or 20, make it special!

Have a happy day!
