Every year I make these candy calendars for the kiddos-a tradition that my Great Aunt Florence started for my brother and I. We would LOVE getting those calendars in the mail!
Aunt Florence would make ours from red or green poster board, grid the calendar squares by hand, then decorate the top with old Christmas cards and small plastic ornaments. For each box, she would tape down a coin (usually dimes and nickels), then twisty tie a Hershey miniature to the top of that.
Candies now are so much more graphic and really carry through the decorations from the top half. I made this calendar using the Completely Christmas Vintage Kit.
Fussy cutting the imagery and creating layers is the key. Numbers Tinted Tape also adds a neat graphic punch.
Make the most of the holiday season, and be sure to squeeze in time for creativity. Sharing your talent is such a gift. 🙂
