A Banner Day!

With “Love” Month approaching, it’s time to start thinking about those sweet Valentine projects…Shellye with you today to share a quick and easy heart banner and card!

I picked up a package of red heart cut-outs at a local party supply store.  They’re very inexpensive and came in a package of 12… plenty of them to create a nice banner.  The hearts measure 4″, so if you can’t find something similar at your craft or party supply store, then you could try cutting the shapes with a cutting machine or template.

To begin, I took one of the chipboard hearts and used it to trace the shape onto the back of the red foil papersheet found in the Party Games Collection.  Using a tape runner, I attached the foil hearts to the fronts of each red heart.

Next, I used some dark pink letters from my stash to spell out the sentiment :Be Mine.  Again, if you don’t have the size of alphabets that you’d like to use, a cutting machine or those poster stencils would also work just as well 🙂

I freehanded three hearts from the back of the Pretty & Playful paper found in the Family Fun Paper Kit and then attached with foam dots.  Using the small punching element on the Crop-A-Dile, I made two holes at each side of the hearts then tied through some colorful turquoise satin ribbon.  Be sure to leave enough length at the ends so that the banner can be hung through the loops.  This would also make a fun gift for a teacher!

Next up is a card made adorable with one of the punch-out kids and cut-out dress found in the Family Fun Paper Kit.  I always loved dressing paper dolls, so this was a treat!

I started with a plain card that I embossed with a Swiss Dot pattern.  I wanted a lot of the embossed pattern to show, so I kept the card design cropped to one of the medium-sized BINGO Craft Cards.  I simply attached the dressed girl with foam dots over the center.  Next, I added a border of lace trim from my stash.

I trimmed down one of the little labels from the Pink Twirly Twine card and attached it just under the bouquet of flowers.  A small bow of Pink Twirly Twine and the card is complete and ready to send to a friend!

Glad you’ve stopped by today!  I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of the sweet Valentine’s projects brought to us by the Vintage Street Design Team…I hope you do too 😉 ….Shellye
