Thanksgiving Recipes

vintage-thanksgiving-folder-1Well, its time to start rounding up the traditional Thanksgiving recipes…do you remember where you put them? Or, maybe you’ve found some new ones that you cut out of this month’s Thanksgiving magazines. Wouldn’t it be great to just have a themed folder that holds these special recipes? With the Vintage Thanksgiving kit, this year, I decided to do just that!

I really enjoy the collage look. Its such a great way to add lots of little details, not to mention, the best way to use up scraps! I especially love these vintage celluloid cocktail forks that are included in the kit. A dab of real gold glass glitter, also included in the kit, adds a touch of bling to the center of the flowers.

vintage-thanksgiving-folder-2 The Vintage Thanksgiving Kit also includes a bonus kit of “old world” and prairie patterned cardstock, along with a generous package of ephemera. A fun way to use the scraps is to create paper leaves for place cards!

This recipe is definitely going in the recipe folder. If you are looking for something new to try this Thanksgiving, give “Gravel” a try!

1 package cranberries

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup water

20 large marshmallows

1 small package lemon jello

1 cup diced apple

1 cup diced celery

1-2 cups chopped walnuts

Boil together cranberries, sugar and water until berries crack. To this mixture, add the marshmallows and lemon jello until the marshmallows are thoroughly melted.  Cool, then add apples, celery and nuts. Pour mixture into glass casserole dish and refrigerate.

Happy Creating & Cooking!
