I hope you had a great week!
This week was Teacher Appreciation Week. For all of you teachers out there, THANK YOU for all that you do! My dad was a teacher and finished his career as a superintendent of schools. His love though, was always the children and teaching. It definitely was his calling and he fully embraced it.
My daughter Meghan is a Junior this year, and has two teachers that just go above and beyond for the students. To thank them for all that they do, we thought it would be fun to make gift baskets – vintage style of course, with a bit of a “Spring-time in Paris” theme.
Each basket included mason jar glasses with paper straws, linens, a vase of fresh flowers, cookies sprinkled with pink and yellow sugar, and a lovely bottle of pink lemonade. We were really pleased with how they turned out, and I hope they will enjoy them!
As I was out and about gathering supplies for the baskets, I popped into one of our local antique stores. I just love these vintage jewelry boxes, and this one with gold butterflies is especially sweet. I was excited to also find this vintage hat box with the old gold stripes – it will be great for storage in the craft room!
And, I have to share this adorable piggy. I cannot believe how big this bank is! It was at least 18 inches. So, so cute. It didn’t come home with me, but it sure was tempting! 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful “Springy” weekend!
