Bingo Card Creative Tour Finale & a Winner!

Happy Friday!!!

I hope you enjoyed the focus on Bingo cards this week. I have a few more Bingo ideas that I was hoping to share this week, but they’ll be popping up in the near future. There are just so many things you can create with them.

Ok, I know today’s project is pushing the needle quite a bit on the “Cutesy Barometer.” (There really is a fine line with that) But, I think the gray skies this week, off and on snow and just general winter yuck, made me crave COLOR! So, thank you for bearing with me. 🙂

bingo-canvas-2This sweet image came from a vintage birthday card. Tip alert: copy those adorable images from your vintage card stash and use them! Retro images truly are unique, and the colors are so vibrant. Anyway, couldn’t resist this one, and her cute kitty too. Reminds me of my daughter and her kitty. That cat is TOLERANT to say the least!

bingo-canvas-4The Bingo Craft Cards again act as a canvas, and offer vibrant color. These are actually four cards tied together-2 on top and 2 on bottom. Folded in half, it allows this project to stay propped up on a shelf. The knots at the top, made of vintage silver elastic cording, also add some interest.

bingo-canvas-5Little paper scraps, cut into various shapes, adds interest when suspended from a bow. A great way to carry a little splash of color into another area of the project, and a way to use up those scraps that we all accumulate. 🙂

bingo-canvas-3And, one more idea for those scraps of ephemera…save them to stamp titles, or for journaling. The texture of vintage book paper is so unique, not super smooth as modern paper, and adds a lot to a vintagey project. This title was stamped with chalk ink for an even softer look.

bingo-canvas-6Now for something truly “WONDERFUL!”  Its time to announce the winner of the Bingo Bundle! Thank you to everyone for participating. I do enjoy hearing from you, and appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your ideas!

Bingo Card Creative Tour Day 3 & GIVEAWAY!

Its been SO FUN creating with Bingo cards this week! Hope you’ve been enjoying it too…or, at least tolerating my enthusiasm! HA!

I’m thinking these pennants are becoming my new “thing.” They come together so quickly and are just a lot of fun. What’s not to love about happy, crafty flags??? These are fun for any occasion. Wouldn’t these even look cute on top of birthday gift? Maybe even with the recipients photo…hmm…

playgames-pennantBingo cards make the perfect “base” for these pennants. And, one Bingo card, and some extra patterned cardstock, can make 2 of them! Simply cut the the bingo card in half on the diagonal. Then start adding all sorts of fun decor!

playgames2Vintage crepe paper is gathered and peeks out from the top of this fun vintage image from October Afternoon. I stitched a little cluster of tickets to the bottom of the card to add a bit more texture. And, of course, Platinum Stickles!

easterpennant2Easter is still a bit of a ways off, but thought an Easter pennant would also be a cute example of how to use Bingo cards. Again, the Bingo card itself is pretty neutral, but its sturdiness makes for a great base! This bunny image comes from a vintage Easter card. This would be cute tucked inside an Easter basket, or sitting amongst a flower bouquet.

Adhesive foam squares “lift” the image from the base and more glitter! A bit of stitching on the cardstock triangle, along with ephemera also adds more texture. It makes a difference having those subtle details.

bingo-pennants-3Now, onto more Bingo fun…

Vintage Bingo Cards Day 2 & A Giveaway!

vintage-bingo-card-pocket-1This week I am highlighting Bingo cards and how they are truly a craft staple…no matter if your style is vintage, or more contemporary. Bingo cards come in such a variety of colors, fonts and sizes and are such a neutral item, that they can fit in almost ANY project you create.

vintage-bingo-card-pocket-4 vintage-bingo-card-pocket-3

Yesterday, I used a variety of vintage Bingo cards as mini canvases. They made the perfect base for a lovely display of an assortment of dimensional stickers and quotes. The sturdiness of the thick cardstock allows for lots of embellishing. It also works for making a sturdy gift pocket!

For this project, I stitched a vintage Bingo card to a piece of kraft cardstock, sewing along 3 sides only, to create a pocket. I did add glitter to the word “BINGO” to add a bit of bling, but the word still kind of fades in the background…the focal point is the paper doll from the Dimestore Vogue Paper Sheets & Tags kit, and bouquet of vintage forget-me-nots. The Bingo card itself, truly is neutral, but makes for a great pouch!

A strand of vintage sequins and fringe made from vintage dress pattern tissue trims the bottom. A pocket like this would be the perfect packaging for a birthday gift! Simply add a card, a gift card and a chocolate bar. Who wouldn’t like that?

Vintage Bingo Cards: a Creative Tour

embellished-vintage-bingo-cards-1Everyone loves them, whether you’re “into” creating vintage style or are more contemporary; Bingo cards are truly a creative playground for all styles!

It’s no secret they are one of my favorites. You’ve seen them popping up on this blog quite regularly over the years. I’ve been thinking about why I like them so much, and I’ve come up with 4 good reasons.

bingo-card-checklistI’m sure there are even more reasons to love Bingo cards, but we’ll keep the list at 4 for now. Because they are so versatile, I thought it would be fun to feature them on the blog all week. A Vintage Bingo Card “Creative Tour” so to speak.

Bingo Cards truly are a great canvas. The sizes are great to work with, and they are super sturdy-thicker than typical cardstock. So, pile on the embellishments!

To demonstrate this, I took a variety of vintage cards from my stash and embellished them with beautiful quotes and dimensional stickers. Adding a little bit of glitter of course! A super simple project, and a great way to display beautiful embellishments! This is a great way to show off some of your special, vintage holiday embellishments too! Bingo cards as a showcase…

embellished-vintage-bingo-cardsI’ve clipped this arrangement of nature themed Bingo cards on a display rack. Clipping these on a wire wreath form would also be fun. Then, the Bingo Cards could be rotated throughout the seasons & holidays.

Happy Creating!
