Vintage Valentines
Hello everyone, and welcome to the VSM Valentine Challenge day two! I made a couple of cards using the delicious goodies for the challenge. Really, it isn’t much of a challenge to find fun, cute things to make with VSM products. They are so versatile to work with, you can really go wild! Again, to recap what was used, we were given VSM paper dolls, cardstock from the Family Fun Kit, the brand new spectacular bingo cards, and twirly twine in pink and red. We also received a bag filled with vintage valentine goodies.
For this card I covered a folded piece of cardstock with tinted tape in aged, and then layered the other elements over it.
Hope you have a great Valentines Day, and be sure to check back every day this week for more inspiration!

Valentine’s Day Treats!!!
Valentine’s Day…the day to celebrate LOVE, and what better way to do that, than to give your loved ones treats???
Using various items from our Vintage Store, and the new Craft Pantry Staples products, I created a few Valentine treats with a fun vintage flair. Perfect little treasures to hand out to co-workers, pack in school lunch boxes, or give to your best friend.
I think red and aqua is my new all time favorite color combination! They are just so vibrant and happy together, and obviously people in the 40s and 50s thought so too. This little vintage sticker is so cute attached to a Valentine lollipop-a super simple, and FUN treat to assemble. Don’t save those mini vintage ornaments just for Christmas! They can be used year-round as a sweet little vintage accent (if you’ve packed yours away, they can also be found HERE). This aqua one looks great with the new Aqua Twirly Twine!
LOVING the new Bingo Craft Cards! Did you know that each package contains 14 cards? Many sizes and colors-again, a Craft Pantry Staple you can use on most any project!
These Bingo Craft Cards are the perfect card size, and the foil Paper Sheet from Dimestore Vogue adds a neat texture. I ran an 8 inch, by 1 inch strip of the aqua foil in a paper crimper to create this banner type bow. A strip of vintage buttons completes it. See that little snowflake peeking out? These Retro Snowflakes are so versatile!
Have you noticed the new Retro Pink Bling in the store yet? Love those old reflectors…especially how they’ve tarnished over time. This one is trimmed in glitter for even more sparkle.
With one of the larger Bingo Craft Cards (this tan one is 4.5″ x 5.25″), I created a mini pocket by cutting up a Vintage Sandwich Bag, and taping it to the card with Linen Tinted Tape. Its the perfect little pouch for a sugar cookie!
Don’t you just love the colors of vintage valentines? This sweet image comes from the Retro Love Notes kit…love what it says! Even loved ones have to be in the doghouse from time to time.
A snippet from the aqua foil Paper Sheet is tucked in behind the doghouse.
A couple more simple cards. This little guy from Family Fun needed a crown. Prince Charming in saddle shoes! Love it! And, for those loved ones still committed to their New Year’s resolutions, a cute package of Twirly Twine, might just be gift enough!
I hope this gave you some new ideas for Valentine treats! For even more inspiration, join us next week for our Vintage Valentine Design Team Challenge!
