This project by Cherry Nelson is so sweet, with a few take-away tips for your Spring projects!
“Lift” a die cut image away from your project with adhesive foam squares. The depth this creates really does make a difference! For this project, Cherry used a diecut from the Retro Easter Placecards, and just trimmed it accordingly.
Such simple ideas to add extra interest and detailing to your projects!
Hello to you all! I have a fun project for you…I started with the http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/products/family-fashion-accessory-kit-1 . I used the little girl and dressed her up in her winter finery. Her background is a chipboard frame covered in http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/products/farmhouse-sunday-dinner-by-crate-paper the sunday dinner paper from Crate paper and one of the http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/products/bingo-craft-cards bingo cards. I embellished it more with ribbons, a rhinestone dangler, and a big millinary flower. The matching mini pincushion has the same matching paper and also uses a sweet little http://store.vintagestreetmarket.com/search?q=garment+pins garment pin with a charm. I added some stick pins of course and a cute fabric label. I think this would be perfect as a “winter blah” pick me up for someone and their craft room. Hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas! cherry
Hi there , cherry here to share a fun Christmas card. LOVE the 1950s style…little kitschy and oh so happy! I decided to pair the Crate Paper Peppermint collection with an adorable page from an old little golden book. The store has some of the sweetest authentic Christmas goodies right now. The Santa is so jolly…I framed him with a postage stamp frame to give him center attention. I nestled some of the vintage greenery in my ribbons. I also used a vintage style buckle to slide my ribbons through. This guy just makes me smile…hope he does you too! Cherry
Wow, this fun-filled week is just flying by!
Tomorrow, we announce the winner of the BLOG HOP GIVEAWAY, so be sure to enter. 🙂
Our first set of projects were created by Cherry Nelson (http://cherrysjubileehome.blogspot.com):
Cherry uses Dimestore Vogue die cuts and Family Fun Meghan Kay cardstock for these super sweet pockets. The May Arts green and pink striped twill ribbons complement the die cut buttons perfectly and add a playful touch. What a great idea to tie some bling to the center! The May Arts lace trim also adds subtle texture to the bottom.
For this card, Cherry layered the Dimestore Vogue tags and die cuts to create the card’s focal point. The satin ribbon layers beautifully on the twill to create a bundle of bows!
For our last project of the day, Heidi Blankenship (http://embellished-dreams.blogspot.com) “dolls up” one of our Dimestore Vogue ladies on a really creative button card!
Per Heidi “All of the pattern paper and die cut images are from the Paper Sheets & Tags Dimestore Vogue Collection. I used the pattern paper and the pink tape measure border and then I added white lace across the top of the card and above the tape measure border and I also added some white seam binding. Then I added the die cut images of the lady and button tag. I used several of the button die cuts. For the buttons I punched holes and added thread, then used 3D foam squares to pop of the buttons and add some dimension. I hand sewed the blue crochet lace trim and the smaller white lace, layered the two pieces, added a ribbon buckle and flat back pearl to make a rosette. To finish off the card I added a white seam binding bow and some white pearls to the lace trim and for a necklace and earring.”
So many May Arts ribbon ideas on this card! The ribbon rosette is another great way to use those special ribbon scraps-what a great accent!
Thank you so much for joining us today! We hope you’ve been inspired to try some of these ideas on your next projects.
More fun projects tomorrow, and be sure to pop over the May Arts Blog for more ideas and Giveaways!
Have a happy day,
