This week, Northern Colorado has been blessed with spring-like temps. We’re talking mid 50’s and 60’s, with a possibility for 70 (gasp!) on Friday. Its been lovely, and absolutely gets me in the mood for green grass and flowers. 🙂
I love the combination of felt and sequins. Especially on vintage Christmas stockings – nothing like it. Its such a charming combination of simplicity and glitz. And, felt is SO EASY to work with…..what’s not to love about that???
So, in this spring-like frame of mind, I decided to craft a little bouquet for Valentine’s Day. A simple swirl of felt creates a sweet little flower. And, some platinum sequins and seed beads really dress it up!
I used vintage pipe cleaners (that once upon a time, really cleaned pipes – ha!) for the stems and a vintage paper/foil leaf as an extra embellishment. Vintage sheet music makes a great, neutral background matte, framed in an old, simple wooden frame.
This little bouquet is now on my desk and is a great reminder for Spring days to come!
Have a great rest of the week and weekend!

I hope your week is off to a good start! I had a fun time this weekend visiting an estate sale in my neighborhood. The pic above are a few of my finds. Love this little ragdoll..I’ll have to make her a new dress though! The embroidered handkerchiefs are silk (gorgeous, and so soft!), love the tarnished spoon (will be perfect for scooping glass glitter!) and the lovely hand mirror. Did you find any treasures this weekend?
I don’t know why, but the fabric I used to make these cards remind me of petit fours. Maybe because its so soft and delicate, dainty and very springy. So, Petit Four Cards! I remember making petit fours with my mom one year as a little girl. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but they do take a bit of time. My daughter is just the right, patient, age…may have to try them soon. But, in the meantime, cards instead!
To begin making these cards, I cut down a piece of cardstock and wrapped it in fabric, ribbons and embellishments. I then folded and stamped coordinating cardstock, then adhered the fabric rectangle to the top of the card. A bit of a glitter pen and stickles adds some sparkle. And distressed edges add a bit more contrast.
The inside of the cards are lined with vintage ledger paper from this very vintage Order Book. Soft and lovely and sweet, just like a petit four. Perfect for a note to a special friend. This little bundle of Petit Four Cards are now available in my Etsy store. You can find them here:
Have a great day, and happy creating!!
