Happy St Patrick’s Day from Vintage Street Market!
May each of you have a blessed St. Patrick’s Day!
What better day for a fun vintage fusion canvas. This canvas features tons of paper ephemera, stickles, and mini ledger letters from the Vintage Street Market store, a shamrock punched from Bingo Craft Cards, and my wild Irish imagination!
I love the size of this canvas ( 6inches x 12 inches) for fun household decor. Here are some close ups of the detail. Lots of Mod Podge was used, along with gecko colored paint and Liquitex white opaque flakes “painted” with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.
Here are some close ups:
Have a beautiful St. Patrick’s Day!
| An Irish Prayer |
| May God give you… For every storm, a rainbow, For every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share, For every sigh, a sweet song, And an answer for each prayer. |
Vintage Saint Patty’s Day Treat
It’s almost Saint Patrick’s Day! This day brings back so many memories for me. You see, contrary to my last name (O’Malley), I don’t have a drop of Irish blood in me. But, I feel like I do. (I married a guy who is 100% Irish.) And for eight years, I attended St. Patrick’s School on Long Island. I wore a green plaid uniform and green socks every day of my grade school years. And most of my friends were from large Irish-Catholic families. Our town has a huge parade and, being from the school, I marched in it every March 17! So, I guess I’m an honorary Irish-woman.
That’s why I was so excited when I saw the St. Patrick’s Day Vintage Tag Kit. There are so many fun little finds in it. I decided to create a sweet treat basket and tag.
This was so fun to pull together. I found the green Hershey Kisses at Target. Oh my, Creme de Menth kisses are the best, by the way!!!
I created the rosette using some of the vintage crepe paper and added some Platinum Stickles around the edges. This is my favorite color to use on vintage projects and I’m so excited that it’s now in the VSM store.
To create the tag, I layered lots of the paper goodies that came in the kit. I made another rosette and topped it with that cute shamrock. I also added one of the vintage stickers.
There’s still lots of goodies left, so I’ll probably make a few more tags. They are always great for teacher gifts.
Thanks for stopping by today and for sharing my Saint Patrick’s Day memories with me. ~Anabelle… Read the rest
St. Patrick’s Day Tag Kit!
There’s a new vintage kit in the store! So hard to believe that March is almost here, and that means the luck of the Irish is almost upon us! Check out this “green” kit full of vintage goodies and make some decorative St. Patty’s Day tags. Each kit includes enough ingredients to make approximately 10 tags.
Here’s just a few ideas for inspiration:
I remember last St. Pat’s day sending the kiddos on a treasure hunt first thing in the morning. I added clues to tags and strategically placed them around the house. The clues led to a basket of muffins tinted green. They loved it, and it was something different from candy. Plus, it was the perfect side to the green eggs-also a hit.
If these tags are too “fancy” for a child’s treasure hunt, consider tying them to a cellophane bag filled with homemade cookies, or gold, foil-covered chocolate coins, for a coworker or teacher. Or, if its a larger tag, adhering it to a plain gift bag for a larger treat. Tie one around a pair of bright green, inexpensive socks. The recipient will appreciate the gesture and the unique vintage tag!
Aren’t these vintage labels great? The Peapod Bakers Twine really sets this tag off!
More bakers twine, and a touch of Silver Glass Glitter. Love the sparkle of this stuff! You can find this cute leprechaun HERE in the Recipes section.
Spread some Irish luck around with these unique tags.
Create vintage style!
