vintage-travel-paperpackAh, is there anything more fun than a little pocket of vintage travel tidbits? This hand-crafted pouch holds lots of great vintage, travel-themed ephemera-perfect for all sorts of projects!

vintage-travel-paperpack2Each 6×6″ stitched pocket holds travel die cuts, vintage postage stamps, vintage game piece coins, vintage book paper, a vintage game card, a vintage projector wheel, vintage tickets, a vintage-inspired key and a vintage slide holder. So much potential!

vintage-travel-pack-embellishmentPunch a circle from a scrap piece of ephemera, and adhere to the center of the film wheel. A stamp or clock face embellishment adds a nice touch!

Or, make a flip book out of ephemera, and a vintage game card. Simply punch a hole in the top corner and add a brad to make the booklet fold open.

vintage-travel-embellishmentAnother quick idea is to stitch a piece of clear acrylic to the front of a vintage playing card, to create a pocket. A key, vintage ticket and a vintage postage stamp slide in perfectly!

vintage-travel-embellishmentsI hope you’re having a great week! Its so hard to believe that summer is halfway over and the kids will be back in school next month!

Happy Creating!

Fashion is a Statement

I love vintage fashion – and this photo of my grandaunt Margot and her best friend – showing them wearing the same clothing is so much fun. They did this a lot to show how close they were. The photo was taken at the beach where they took several days to get there by bike. Often they sewed their clothing so it would match. They both met their later husbands on one of those tours- they were also friends – not sure if they wore also the same clothing 😉 – I might have to ask 🙂

I used the  “Family Fun Paper Kit” with this photo and also some beautiful Crafty Secrets paper and Maya Road Canvas.

Would you nowadays walk around in the same clothes as your best friend?

Have a gorgeous day

Bingo!

When I was browsing through some photos of 2009 I found some from a field trip to the zoo with my “little” godson and I couldn’t believe my eyes. In only two years he changed so much. On the photo he is still the little boy while now he definetly grows into a teenager. I also loved the memory this photo triggered – so the Travel Kit and the Party Games Paper and Die Cuts were a perfect match.

My godson had this funny attitude that day that everytime we wanted to find some new interesting animals to see…all he wanted…was? Bingo…Icecream 😉

Supplies: Vintage Street Market Travel Kit, Party Games Kit, Prima Mask, Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer Mist, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive Sheets, 3D Foam Pads, MyStik Permanent.

Hope you have a gorgeous sunny week !

*Travel Kit* Happiness- Return Requested

Recently I just returned from a trip to Australia and when I saw the Travel Kit with all those beautiful little bits and pieces I instantly knew I wanted to use some of the photos from that trip on it.

I love the layered look and dimension the Aged Tinted Tape adds to the paper and I also added some Gesso to blend it in with the background. I thought those vintage buttons would look great as flower centers on the Epiphany Crafts Frayed Felt Flowers.

That little koala was my favorite in the zoo  – we watched it forever and it was a really fun and happy day – Return Requested 🙂

A “Vogue” Shadow Box all taped up!

Our design team received some fun shadow boxes to alter.  You don’t have to ask me twice to alter something, I am on it!

My shadow box was a small white box with a fun velvet backing on the inside and just the right size for a new found vintage item that I received in my Vintage Travel Kit:
Travel Kit

It is an actual VIEWMASTER disk with original sleeve and in prestine condition and I wanted to show it off in the shadowbox!

Let me show you what I did with my box!

Ok, so no comments on my messy desk!  Here is the shadow box with the insides taken out and covered in Dimestore Vogue paper and the start of my taping the edges with Soot Tinted Tape.

Here is more of top view of the pieces that I cut out for the front frame of the shadow box.

I began to tape around the edges of the shadowbox to create a finished look.  The Tinted Tape was so easy to use and adhered nicely to the paper creating a framed looked on the outside.

A closer look at the tape wrapped around the edges.

Here is the shadow box all covered in paper and wrapped in tinted tape.

A few additions to the outside:  I added a corrugated dress form with painted canvas dress, a paintbrush for a curtain rod with a tulle curtain.  I added some great items from the Vintage Travel Kit to show off the View Master.

A close up shot.

So grab a shadow box and get to altering!
