It’s the little things
It’s funny how sometimes It’s the small things that really catch our eye. When I opened my “Classic Christmas Vintage Kit” and all the vintage goodness fell onto my desk, I realized how I sometimes love the simplest little things. I adored so many things in the kit.. especially this little plastic tree
I had this inexpensive glass pedestal and dome I had gotten at Hobby Lobby , sitting in my room. I love being able to dress these up for different seasons and Holidays. So..I grabbed a couple of wooden thread spools from the bin in my craft room and created a little base for my tree.
I used the sheet music and tickets to cover my spools, and added one of the little vintage glass bulbs to the base of the tree. I lined the edge of my pedestal with the fun paper fringe and sat the dome on top, placing the vintage doily under it. The Maraschino bakers twine tied on the top. (why not?) lol
Here’s a photo, with the dome off , just so you can see it a little better.
Well, it’s probably time to get busy with a little Christmas baking. Do you have a favorite Christmas cookie? ( see those peanut butter ones with the chocolate stars in the center?? … defiantly one of my very favorites!)
* all sugar free, of course* lol

Let the Decorating begin
It’s that time! Time to break out the Christmas decorations. I’m just getting started, but a really love it when I have a few “new” things to get me excited about getting the house ready for the holidays. I always have my favorite Christmas things, that get put out each year, but having a few new things is always fun and inspiring. I was so excited to get my “Classic Vintage Christmas Kit” goodies in the mail the other day. “yippee” I dug around in them like a kid in a candy store. I couldn’t wait to create something fun with them to start my holiday decorating for this year.
So… I now have a cheery Christmas swag for my kitchen!
Along with the bingo cards, I used pieces of the vintage sheet music, the parcel post sticker and a beautiful vintage card, that came in the kit.
The paper doily , vintage tickets and glittered felt, were also from the kit.
I used some bells, and bits of rick rack and ribbon I had in my supplies here in my room, but there is something about using actual vintage treasures like the ones in the kit, that is just extra special. I totally enjoyed making this. I enjoyed the process.. now I get to enjoy having it hang in my kitchen for the holidays. yay!
Now that I’ve shared my project, I thought I’d share a photo with you. A photo of my basket filled with some of my collection of Shiny brites.
Do you collect any particular Christmas things?

A fun little Coupon organizer
Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying the beautiful Fall. The weather here in Nebraska has been just amazing! We are enjoying every minute because, we know it can all change in a flash. I’ve lived here all my life, and I can promise you.. colder weather WILL come before long
Gotta love Nebraska! brrrrr Whether you have colder days ahead, or you live where it’s warm all the time… The Holidays are quickly approaching. That means more cooking and baking for alot of us, and that means more trips to the store
What a better time to start clipping coupons right? I found this fun little unfinished divided box at Target a while back and thought it would make a great coupon organizer.
I thought to myself.. if I’m clipping and saving coupons, I’m doing it in style! lol No really… I thought it would be fun to dress up my coupon organizer to atleast make it alittle more fun. So I broke out my Family Fun Collection …..now whether it’s sitting on my kitchen counter or in my cart at the grocery store, atleast I have something fun to look at:)
** If you are not one for dealing with coupons, what about one of these to hold receipts for Christmas gifts? Every year I have a billfold filled with this and that receipts that I need to save incase things need to be returned. This year… I’m going to be organized! ( or atleast give it my best shot).

It’s a party!
Today I’m sharing some little party themed projects I created using the “Family Fun Paper Kit”. I made a card, a cake make from an empty ribbon spool, and a little treat container (using an AccuCut die and a sheet of the papers from the kit).
A cute set up for a special little girls Birthday:)
I used a large ribbon spool like this to create the faux cake
I used a small piece of wooden dowel to make the candle for the cake. (you can either wrap paper around it or paint it) I added a small piece of string for the wick.
You can also create your cake so that the top can open to be used at a little candy or gift container.
It’s fun to repourpose things you have and create something new and fun. These papers and images make that EASY!
Hope you enjoyed the party!

Sister Altered Bingo card
Hi everyone! Vicki here. Today I’m sharing with you a altered bingo card I made using one of the darling little girls from the Family Fun collection. I chose this cute pink coat for her to wear on this project. ( picking what they will wear, is half the fun right?) lol.
I used an old milk cap to put the “sister” title in, and used foam tape to add the little girl to the card. Adding some fun dimension. I used the edge of the of the Meghan Kay paper for the trim at the bottom of my card. Looks pleated right? no work on my part
Now.. just one problem. I have THREE sisters! Looks like I better get busy making two more. lol
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!
