Happy Camper
Do you have a kiddo going to camp this summer?
Make him/her a Happy Camper with this fun care package made with the Vintage Camping kit filled with fun, authentic vintage and vintage-inspired ribbons, ephemera and accessories all centered on the outdoors.
A great treat to include in your care package is a paper cone filled with homemade granola. Wired evergreen makes a fun handle for this black paper cone. The tag is assembled using a vintage postcard and a plastic retro tree. Love how the large Scrapbook Adhesive foam squares are strong enough to adhere the tree! The black foam squares are perfect!
This kraft-colored gift box is a great box to hold cards for your little camper to send home. The front of the box was decorated with vintage scrapbook paper and postcard scraps, and trimmed with more wired evergreen and a sweet little retro deer- attached again with those awesome foam squares.
This kit is just chock full of materials! So fun working will all of the different paper textures. An Epiphany Crafts Studio Punch makes a playful embellishment on this card.
The background of this card is made using authentic vintage imagery. Looks like just the place a moose would want to hang out in!
Some Aged Tinted Tape and vintage ribbon accents this vintage image. To make the bear embellishment pop out a bit more, I again used foam dots. To really make something pop, layer the foam dots!
So, here’s a clever little vintage gadget I found the other day. Looks like its from 1971. Does anyone remember using one of these? I wonder if your toast really gets this golden brown…
Don’t forget to visit the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog for even more vintage inspiration this month! Also, leave a comment somewhere on the blog, and you’ll be entered to win some fun Vintage Street Market/Scrapbook Adhesives stuff! Winner will be announced June 29th!… Read the rest
Summer Road Trips
Nothing screams nostalgia as much as a summer road trip. Driving through small towns, and seeing all of the local history and historical buildings-I just love it!
My family just returned from a road trip to South Dakota-a beautiful drive to a very beautiful state. It was a quick trip, but we certainly will return as there is so much to see!
Of course, top on our list was a visit to Mount Rushmore, and this year Mount Rushmore is celebrating its 70th birthday. Its just amazing, and the kids loved hiking around the base seeing the monument from many different perspectives.
To document our visit, I made a layout using the Vintage Camping kit. I just love the colors and textures included in this kit.
This little tag pocket was made using the vintage photo page that is included in the kit. I simply cut it in half (thereby creating 2 pockets) and sealed up the bottom and side with my Scrapbook Adhesives MyStik runner-it really ranks up there with sliced bread! The bottom of the pocket was further trimmed with Tinted Tape Numbers. I adhered the vintage ledger paper to the tag to create an area for journaling.
For the side of the pocket, I added a row of vintage film (also included in the kit) and black twill for an interesting border. So in cruising the office supply area of my local store, I found a package of clear file folder tabs-how fun are these??? I simply added a tab to the back of the pocket, and punched the date out with my Dymo. I really like how the tab is clear-adding texture but not creating a distraction.
We visited Mount Rushmore on a cloudy day, so this layout needed just a hint of color. To create it, I trimmed the top of the vintage postcard also included in the kit, and used it to edge the top of the pocket.
Linen Tinted Tape adds a subtle decorative touch to the top of the layout. You can really see the texture of the tape against the black cardstock! I used Cut and Paste Alpha Tiles for the title. Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares create the additional dimension on the letters.
Summer goes by so fast, but I hope you get to take a little time away to enjoy it-maybe with a quick road trip, or a weekend camping.
Also, Happy Flag Day!!!
