I’m in the Mood for Love…..

Hello there…Happy almost New Year to you all! This time of year after all the Christmas goodies are put away the duldrums can set in, so I love to embark early on my Valentine creations to shoo them away! I wanted to think a bit outside the box and use a different color scheme other than pink or red. I decided on blue and creams. I used the gorgeous gingham multi- texture paper sheets from Dimestore Vogue and fussy cut the border from the Glamour Mom sheet from the Family Fun Collection.

Other than that I used a diecut and a few stamps to create a fun shabby Valentines for someone special! Great way to use up your Dimestore Vintage scraps! The other card is more traditional….I had to have a bit of pink in there!

I used the blue gingham again along with the number border from the same paper. I also used the ice cream diecut from the Party Games paper kit and also cut out one of the mini envelopes from the Family Fun Accessory Kit as a diecut. Added some distress stickles in bubblegum pink to the ice cream top…so much fun! Hope you enjoy,  and wherever you may find yourself tomorrow for New Years stay safe! Cherry… Read the rest

Save the Bubble Lights!

Bubble lights-you gotta love them! Maybe a little bit tacky, but oh so much fun and really add personality to the Christmas tree. I’m watching mine cheerfully bubbling  away right now.  Unfortunately, like all bulbs, they do not last forever, and its a teensy bit upsetting to throw such a unique piece of vintage away.  Plus finding replacements is kind of difficult these days!

So, here is a little, EASY, craft preserving those burned out bulbs, and we have a limited number of these ornament kits available in the store HERE.  As bubble lights are the “modern day” answer to putting real candles on the Christmas tree, this ornament resembles those sweet Victorian candles with a retro twist.

Click on the instructions below for a printable version of how to assemble these vintage mementos.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Birthday buckaroo

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I’d share with you a little  “Western themed”  Birthday treat box and card done with papers and this cute little cowboy from the  Family Fun Paper kit.

This little box is an Accucut die.  Th VSM papers are great for creating boxes because they are a really sturdy weight paper.  I added the little cowboy to the top using 3D foam squares. The added dimension is really fun.

I also created this folded shirt card using the papers from the Family Fun Paper kit.

I’m thinking some  rootbeer barrel candies in the box would be fun 🙂

I have a nephew who will be a birthday boy soon again before long.. and I think he just might like this.  lol

He’s a pretty Cute little buck-a-roo 🙂

Holiday Cheer!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season.  I created this wall hanging to bring a little vintage holiday cheer into my home this season:

I used 4 6×6″ pieces of chipboard for the base.  I used a sheet of paper from the family fun kit that looks like lined paper to cover the chipboard pieces.  Next, I used platinum stickles on the edges of each chipboard panel.  I punched holes in the corners of each chipboard piece and attached the panels together with candy cane striped pipe cleaners.  All embellishments are from a VSM Vintage Christmas Kit (these kits are packed with true vintage goodies, contents may vary).  I used the aqua blue foil from the Dimestore Vogue paper kit to make the scalloped border at the bottom and the rosettes.  This was so fun, and really relaxing to create in the middle of all the crazy holiday stress.

Next I created a gift bag for a hostess gift using a brown paper lunch bag as a template:

Take apart a brown paper bag and use it as your template.  Use the red foil paper from the VSM party games kit and cut a rectangle the same dimensions as your paper bag.  Following the fold lines on the paper bag, measure and score your foil.  Fold it up, glue it together at the seams and embellish.  I used embellishments from a VSM vintage Christmas kit, and a paper doll from the family fun kit.

Have a Merry Vintage Christmas Everyone!

Candy Cane Candle holder

Just stopping by with a quick photo of some gifts the kids & I made this year for our advent calendar.

Easy peasy.

We bought small votive candles in the glass jars, then with a glue gun, glued on mini candy canes all around the jar. Then we glued some tinsel on the top. We made a border out of Vintage Street Market red foil (Party Games Collection). We used a border punch along both sides and adhered it around the candle. Then I helped the kids make an accordion flower and a quick start punch and voila!

A little Family fun.

Enjoy your holidays, such a wonderful time of year. I find it perfect spending time with my kids making fun things.
