A Totally “Vogue” Layout
We hope you enjoyed being inspired by all of the uses for Bingo Craft Cards last month. There are so many things to create with those fun Craft Pantry Staples. This month, we will be sharing some “out of the box” innovative ideas created with our multi-texture Paper Sheets & Tags.
Although a layout itself might not exactly be considered “out of the box,” there are a few techniques on this layout that are pretty unique, and really utilize the versatility of the paper kits, specifically in this case, Dimestore Vogue.
To create a layout from Paper Sheets, simply cut down a 12×12 square (the large paper sheets are already scored and folded at the 12″ marks, so super easy to cut down). As the paper sheets are a thinner paper, mount onto a cardstock sheet for extra support. Additional stitching along the edges adds a decorative touch, and more color.
The chevron zig zag was created by cutting down and arranging, narrow strips from the Aqua foil paper sheet included in the Dimestore Vogue paper kit. This zig zag also echoes the ric rac trim printed on the patterned paper, and adds a bit of sparkle to the page.
As the patterned paper sheet was mounted to cardstock, by only adhering the edges and top of the patterned paper to the cardstock, I was able to create a pocket actually inside the page. Before adhering, I trimmed along the ric rac with an exacto knife. This becomes a great place to add journaling tags and tickets.
This silhouette was created by cutting out one of the girl figures from the patterned paper. Simply turn it over and show the reverse side!
Real vintage dress pattern tissue creates the base for this flower.
And, a small Bingo Craft Card (with the center punched out) creates a frame. The “VOGUE” title comes from another piece of the patterned Dimestore Vogue paper. These friends definitely look “Vogue” in their dresses!
The great part about using 24″x 36″ Paper Sheets for layouts though, is that there is still enough left over for more layouts!
Be sure to visit all month long for more ideas using these paper kits, along with vintage projects and inspiring collections. What a great way to start off Summer!!!
Happy Creating,
Michelle
