Halloween Treats & Charms

Happy October!!!
As soon as the leaves start changing, my creativity swings into full holiday gear. Just love this time of year! Here are a few special projects I plan on creating more of this Halloween season.

These charms, when attached to a ballchain, will make a great seasonal necklace! However, this year, I’m planning on giving some of these to friends to hang from their car’s rearview mirror…a bit of mobile decor! ūüôā

And they are so quick and easy, maybe you’ll be inspired to make one for your car too!

Ranger Inkssentials Memory Frame

Ranger Inkssentials Memory Glass

Classic Halloween Seals

Vintage Ephemera

Garment Pins

Vintage Jingle Bells

Precision Scissors

Hinge Clips

STEP 1: Adhere vintage seal to vintage paper.  Using glass as a guide, position glass over image, and trim around the glass edge with scissors.

STEP 2: Sandwich image between glass and insert into frame. Clip frame together.

STEP 3: Thread a garment pin through a vintage jingle bell and attach onto hinge clip. Tie ribbon to hinge clip.

STEP 4: Attach hinge clip to top of memory frame.

These treat containers will be perfect party favors for our annual pumpkin carving party! Fortunately, these are also super easy to make.

Black Twirly Twine

Garment Pin

Peat pot

Black crepe

Black ribbon

Classic Halloween Seals

Vintage ephemera

Black shimmer alphas

Platinum Stickles

Orange Fringe

Halloween Cardstock stickers

Glue gun

2 inch circle punch

STEP 1: With the glue gun, run a strip of glue along one side of peat pot. Quickly crimp and press crepe strip into glue (does not need to be even folds. The more uneven the better actually). Repeat for the additional sides.  For decorative purposes and to secure folds, add staples. Add black ribbon bow around center of pot.

STEP 2: To create tag, adhere halloween seal to vintage book paper and punch out circle. Add “BOO” title. Punch another circle from cardstock and adhere to the book paper circle. Trim rim with stickles. Let dry, then punch hole to top of tag. Attach garment pin and attach to treat bag with Black Twirly Twine.

This treat container was made with orange fringe. Fold the fringe strip in half and adhere to peat pot as above. Staple to keep in folded position and add a black bow.

Can you believe it is almost October?  Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner!  This is my most favorite time of the year!

In August, I turned 50.  I decided to make a layout to celebrate the big event.

Supplies Used:

I really enjoyed using these papers.  The first really crafty hobby I had was sewing, so this was a blast from the past!

My second project is a repurposed zinc canning jar lid. ¬† I had a great time with this. ¬†I think it gives some wonderful “life advice”: ¬†Be Nice, Assume the Best, and Hug Your Kids!

The Supplies for this project are:

  • Unity Doily Stamp
  • Versa Mark Ink – Water Mark
  • Lindy’s Stamp Gang – Violet Obsidian Embossing Powder
  • Crate Paper Emma’s Collection Quilts
  • Zinc Canning Jar Lid

Find these items in the Sewing Room at Vintage Street Market Store!

  • Pins
  • Vintage Measuring Tape
  • Flower
  • White Tulle
  • Pink Twirly Twine

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see some of your inspirational projects soon!

Trick or Treat!

Fall is here and with fall comes Halloween! I love all things fall and thought it would be fun to showcase some of the new Halloween goodies in the shop.

One of my favorites is the vintage Halloween Crepe Paper Fringe in the shop, which inspired this treat cone.

Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut the cone shape and attached black twill for the handle. I glued the Halloween Crepe Fringe around the top and embellished the center with patterned paper, Halloween flair and bats covered with Black Diamond Stickles. This is the perfect treat when filled with candy.

I also made a Halloween card which came together quickly using left over pieces of fringed crepe and patterned paper.

This card came together quickly and will be perfect along with a little treat for someone special.

Happy fall…enjoy the cooler weather and I’ll see you next month!… Read the rest

Happy fall, y’all! ¬†Now that it’s here I’m finding myself digging out totes of decorations and making festive items.

The focus of this card is on the Vintage Street Market items, like my favorite Bingo Craft Cards and the patterned paper from the Family Fun paper kit! But the Making Memories alphabet stickers really give the card and interesting element!

Now, this one is mostly vintage fusion, using some of the Making Memories and Graphic 45 available in the store. ¬†However, I did use some of the Soot Tinted Tape¬†to make a circle accent — LOVE IT!

Hope your fall is cool, crisp and colorful!
