valentine frame 1

Oh my, its been quite a little while since I’ve posted.   But, what a fun time to get back to it, as its almost Valentine’s Day! And, what a fun holiday to get crafty for. 🙂

I want to share a fancy framed valentine. This frame started as a basic gold frame, but a few layers of acrylic paint, rubbed off strategically, make it look very vintage, and we certainly like that!

This vintage valentine image was enlarged, trimmed in gold glass glitter and surrounded with a double layer of pleated crepe paper in white and gold.  It looks so rich and opulent. I love how Valentine’s Day can be unapologetically over-the-top with glitter and texture.

And, what’s Valentine’s Day without flowers???  So a sweet corsage was assembled and is another great focal point in the frame. Edged in a bit more glitter of course. 🙂

valentine frame 3

A red doily peeks out from behind the ruffled crepe. I rubbed a bit of gold ink across the top to soften the color a bit, and vintage white buttons perfectly add another little pop of white.

I just love the gold glass glitter on the gold crepe ruffle. It looks so Victorian.

framed valentine 5

This framed Valentine looks just like a big heart-shaped box of chocolates. There’s still a couple more weeks till the big day…. what are your crafty plans for Valentine’s Day?

Happy Creating!
