Celebrate Your Day

April is here!  I am starting see floral blooms and patches of green grass.  The birds are out making nests and I hope to see a few nests with little babies soon.

My card for today is for my Mom’s birthday next week.  I love mixing vintage ephemera with new products.

I created a pocket with tag for the front.  I then used a flashcard for the sentiment.  The pennant was created from red foil and a vintage ticket is inserted in the photo slide.  I hope you like!

Wishing my Mom a wonderful birthday!

Happy Spring!

Easter Wishes

Hey all!  Amy here and I am back as promised with an altered Easter project to share.  I started with a vintage ice cream cup and then began building.

I added tissue paper garland around the edges then layered tinsel garland with aqua Twirly Twine on top.  Next I used May Arts red twill stripes ribbon to make a bow and then added two paper flowers.    I added a vintage bingo marker for the center.

For the banner, I painted wooden skewers and attached handmade finials from beads.  I tied aqua Twirly Twine to the skewers and then added three red foil triangles from Party Games Paper Sheets and Tags.  Next, I punched holes in a fare ticket stub and added to the right skewer.  I then used a sticker sentiment backed on a Jillibean pattern paper.  I attached the skewers to the inside of the cup with tape.

I love the way it came out and especially like that it is not the traditional colors of Spring.  I challenged myself with that for a bit. Finally I filled my cup with a little Easter grass and a pale blue egg.  I think these cups are perfect for birthdays, other holidays, or even a special pick me up.  I hope this inspires you!

Vintage Valentine

Hello, Heidi here today and I have a couple of Valentine cards to share with you using some of the wonderful VSM products.

Here is the first card that I designed.  I used one of the Bingo Craft Cards for the background.  I added a piece of a paper doily in the bottom corner and stamped a sentiment.  Then I inked the edges for the Bingo Craft Card and added the ribbon.  Using one of the Making Memories Garment Pins I added a Making Memories Chandelier Beads Noel and pinned that to the ribbon.

Next I used a mini heart punch to punch out some hearts with the red foil from the Party Games Paper Sheets & Tags collection.  I glued the red foil hearts in place, added the lady die cut and the peral heart.

To finish off the card I added some cotton candy Stickles to the dress, hat and shoes on the lady die cut.

This is the second card that I designed and for this one I used a sweet vintage Valentine image from the The Graphics Fairy.

I used die templates from Spellbinders to create all of the die cuts and then I layered them using 3D foam squares in between the layers.  For the background I used some of the red foil from the Party Games Paper Sheets & Tags collection.  I love this red foil!  It can be used for so many different occassions.

Easy Vintage Pockets

Hi there!  Amy checking in for January with two little pockets I sewed (GASP!) using lots of VSM goodies.  It’s been a learning process on use my sewing machine but I must admit there is something rewarding about completing a project with machine stitches.  I am still to scared to sew any clothing item but these small pockets are super simple and you can even hand stitch if you don’t own a sewing machine.  So let’s get started!

First, I used canvas that I cut into long rectangles and simple folded to create my pocket.  Yep, it’s that easy.  I added pattern paper with a thicker weight because it makes the pocket more sturdy.  I used a die cut button with the word friend layered with a  vintage gold ribbon underneath.   I wrapped lace and twine around the pocket and tied it with a vintage button.  I made a little pennant using the ruler print and stapled the corner and  added a green flower.  I tucked a feather behind for added texture.  The last step is to embellish with pearl accents. around “friends”.

The next pocket is the same concept.  Except I fussy cut a little girl image, punched a red foil border, and added a red ticket with the word “sweet”.   I embellished with photo corners and a metal flower.

This is the inside of the pockets.   These would be great to tuck in a note, a piece of jewelry or candy if so inclined.

Hello there!  Amy here, checking in for November with two seasonal cards for the winter holiday that is quickly approaching.  For these cards I used items from the Vintage Fusion kit Sewing Room paired with Vintage Street Market’s Craft Pantry Staples   and Dimestore Vogue to create.  The links to the supplies are listed at the bottom of the post.

I hand cut the  Christmas tree from a green bingo card and distressed the edges with ink.  I added a stick pin for the “star” on top.  The tag is from the Paper Sheets & Tags to which I added a clear sticker.  I punched holes in the die cut buttons also from the same set and added black Twirly Twine to embellish.

For my next card I used Dimestore Vogue with items from the Sewing Room fusion kit.  I also added brown twirly twine and a vintage bingo market.

For my next card I added a white craft bag that I distressed and layered with a red foil circle punch from Party Games, lots of May Arts ribbon, and two chipboard snowflakes with a red vintage bingo marker.

The friends tag is a die cut from Dimestore Vogue.

Below are the items I used from the store to create my cards.  I hope this inspires you to create and wishing you a wonderful holiday!  Happy shopping!  🙂
